Map from a Bird's-Eye View
Original Source ↗Wiwk: Has anyone tried to map from a bird's-eye view? If so, what territory did you manage to cover? Not in km, of course :), but regarding its boundaries? Does this locality have the form of a planet?
Lenas: It happened once. Even before I started mapping, I had a dream (not a Lucid Dream). I was flying at a great height with someone who arranged this journey for me. It felt as if they specifically wanted to show it to me. The area below was quite extensive. I believe it was a piece of the map's SW section, immediately including a strip of forest, a valley with a river, a castle, a prison, and several deep moats around it.
In detail: The forest stretched in a strip along the western side, and a disaster zone ran through it. Slightly above it, in the SW corner, was a huge fertile valley. It looked like a vast depression in the earth, with forests, a river delta, and various settlements at the bottom. The castle was east of the forest, much lower than the valley's level. South of it was the prison. Moats stretched along the southern side, extending from the valley, and then turned north, reaching the castle's level. At that time, I knew it was the South. Incidentally, after that, I found myself in the North – I didn't particularly discern the terrain there, everything was covered in a thick fog.
