The Hourglass, First Stage

When Castaneda described attention, he said it needed to be developed. Let us do just that. I will tell you about a method by which you can perceive various energies and informational layers of the "Akashic Records." The "Akashic Records" are an informational stratum accumulated by the planet throughout its existence. It is the place where manuscripts that "do not burn" are kept; a realm of sacred knowledge. We will begin the unveiling of this method with the first exercise. It is very simple and is called "The Hourglass."

Find a suitable place for yourself. Stand in a stable posture, but do not spread your legs wide (you can keep them close together). Straighten your torso. Your head should be in an "forward and upward" position. Try it, and you will understand what this means. The first key aspect of the exercise lies in the movement and position of your hands.

Raise your hands above your head and spread them slightly to the sides (a little wider than your shoulders, elbows slightly bent). Your palms face upward. Your fingers are neither pressed together nor splayed out. Everything is done naturally. Your fingertips point backward. This is the upper hand position. From this, move to the middle position. Your hands descend along two converging arcs. Your palms still face upward, but they rotate so that at eye level, the heels of your palms face each other. At the throat level, your palms form a "scoop" — as if you have gathered water for washing. Your palms are 5-8 cm apart and face upward. Your fingers point forward. Your elbows press against your sides. In front of the solar plexus, the distance between your palms narrows to 2-4 centimeters. Then, you "pour out" what was in the "scoop." Your palms smoothly turn downward. The process of turning the palms occurs between the solar plexus and the navel. The movement of the hands is continuous. At the navel, your palms face downward and begin to move apart to the sides. Your elbows move away from your sides. At the final point, you stand with your hands lowered and spread to the sides. Your elbows are slightly bent. Your palms face downward. Your fingers point forward. Such is the descent of the hands. Their ascent is a pure reverse. The entire procedure is performed in the opposite direction.

Now, regarding the metaphysics.

So, you have raised your palms upward. You await for the sky, cosmos, or universe to "charge" you with energy for the "earth." At this moment, you are a channel through which this energy will be transmitted. You offer your body to the "sky" so that it may communicate with the "earth." Feel with your palms the flow of energy gathering at the level of your raised hands. Then, gently lower this energy to your solar plexus (the trajectory of your palms follows the contours of an hourglass). Gently bring the energy down to your navel and slowly push it downward. At the final point, freeze and feel the "earth" absorb the energy. At some point, the direction of the energy flow will change. Your palms, now facing downward, will begin to fill with the "earth's" energy, which you must transmit to the "sky." You begin to raise your hands upward. That is, essentially, all there is to it. Try to perform five alternating transfers up and down. As your palms move along your body, you may notice how a layer of energy descends or ascends along your spine. This sensation might initially seem weak. But then, after you are cleansed as a channel, the intensity of the sensation will increase. Therefore, the second key aspect of the exercise is to focus your attention on the movement of the "energy layer" along the spine as your hands move.

I ask you to master this exercise. Next time, we will discuss methods that will allow you to increase the intensity of the energy flow.

You might ask what the "Akashic Records" have to do with this. The answer is that one first learns to perceive energy, then extracts information from it, and after that, uses it as a means of transport. We are now embarking on the first phase.
