The second stage of the "hourglass" exercise is performed sitting. Sit with your back against a wall. Assume a half-lotus posture (or its surrogate). Perform two or three arm raises and descents. As you lower them, imagine that the energy of "heaven" passes through your spine and exits from the coccyx towards the center of the Earth. Attempt to visualize this astonishing depth — this length of the energy cord. Correspondingly, as you raise your arms, imagine that the energy of "earth" ascends towards the stars — to the galactic center. Feel this incredibly long energy cord.
Then, during the next descent, do not turn your palms downwards. Instead, place them on your knees. Slightly tilt your head. Feel a ray emanating from the center of each palm and entering the Ajna chakra (the center above the bridge of the nose, where Hindus draw a mark). You should form a pyramid with three edges (two of which are the rays emanating from the palms, and the third will be the spine). The energy of "heaven," which you did not bring fully to "earth," fills the pyramid and is felt as a vibration. With a few slow exhalations, saturate the interior of the pyramid with the energy of "air" (prana). After this, close your eyes and observe hypnagogic images.
At this stage, you can perform two tasks: tuning into various informational layers of the planet, or tuning into your Dreaming body. Let us consider the second option for now. So, you wish to attune to your Dreaming body. As you recall, one of the tasks of a dreamer is to find their sleeping body in a dream. In our case, we slightly alter the condition. We must feel the presence of our DB (Dreaming Body) within the pyramid's space and merge with it. Why is a pyramid necessary for this? Because this exercise is dangerous. You might take on something that is not yours. In ancient times, during similar rituals, mages and sorcerers drew a protective circle. We utilize the pyramid's space.
In principle, one or two infusions of foreign energetic structures into your PB (Physical Body) will not lead to tragic results. You will merely gain the experience of a medium (intermediary). So, you may try to lure your DB into the liminal state of consciousness between sleep and wakefulness. But remember, you are exposing yourself to danger in doing so. Thus, it is better to work from within the pyramid. I suggest you experiment a little. The "hourglass" exercise can be performed both slowly and quickly. It all depends on temperament.
